Game of Thrones
December 3, 2023

After we got up and got ready, we walked to the Busaras bus station to wait for our bus. There were a number of us waiting for the bus for the Game of Thrones Studio Tour. Once the bus arrived, off we went. The driver was playing Christmas carols from www.christmasfm.com. Only a 1½ hour bus ride. Along the way, we saw another Guinness Tanker rolling along the motorway
We arrived in Banbridge where the studio tour is located. We had until 3:00 PM for our tour. Really well laid out. You sometimes had a whole room to yourself. We purchased the audio guide for the phone. I kind of listened, but after a while just enjoyed the sets and costumes. About 20 minutes into the tour the cafe came up, and we stopped for lunch. We both got a salad that was really good. After the tour we stopped in the gift shop and looked. I needed the restroom. As I was leaving the restroom, Tyrion was on the wall, getting ready to shoot you.
We still had over an hour before we would be leaving. We sat on a bench for a bit. The driver came by, and I asked him what he did during the tour. He said he took a nap, but when he woke up, the bus would not start. It is mostly electric, and you have to take the key out of the ignition to not have any electricity being used by the bus. He did get someone to come out to jump the bus, and we took off about 15 minutes late. The driver said he would be in Galway on Monday with a tour for one of the women’s football teams, and we would be in Galway on Monday. We did not see him in Galway, nor the football team.
After we got back, we decided to head over towards the Old Storehouse Pub for supper. They had some live music, and good food. We both took leftovers home.
